Dr. Kum is highly skilled, thorough in her treatment planning, and very personable. She performed my Frenectomy, and the results were excellent. She took her time during the procedure to ensure it was done perfectly. She ensured proper and timely follow-up to determine progress throughout treatment. She coordinated with my other providers as well. I highly recommend to see her for treatment!

Working with Dr. Bethany was a dream! She was so considerate and thorough, from start to finish. What was once a journey fraught with indecision, once we decided to proceed with the tongue and lip releases, we knew we made the best decision. If only we’d made it sooner! Definitely recommend for all your tongue tie needs!

Dr. Bethany was such a rock for us in our early postpartum days after our lactation consultant, Julie Matheney, diagnosed a pretty severe tongue tie on our first baby. She was able to take us next day after our meeting with the lactation consultant so we could fix any feeding issues right away! Her openness and compassion was so appreciated in our delicate state, 4 days postpartum. She took us at a time when they don’t usually take patients; she walked us through our son’s condition and treated him with so much care and tenderness, and then she and her husband did the tongue release procedure so quick and efficiently. The tongue exercises were excruciating to do to our baby, but Dr. Bethany provided so much guidance and support that we made it through. I appreciated how available she was to us to contact her if we needed anything and she was so sweet to check in via text the night of the release as well as through our recovery time. It paid off to get the release done! Our son is thriving and his tongue is super mobile to this day at three months, and we were fortunate to avoid some of the real perils of an undiagnosed tongue tie.

Dr. Bethany is wonderful! She is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her work in the field of infant tongue ties. After our attending physician at the hospital had initially performed a tongue tie release for my child, they failed to provide any post-care information or follow up, and I needed a second opinion. Dr. Bethany did a thorough assessment and helped me to make an informed decision on doing a revision to improve tongue mobility. She has a strong network of local professionals that she works with to help families receive proper comprehensive care, from lactation consultants to occupational therapists and more. Her staff is friendly and the office is very inviting. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a tongue tie specialist!

We brought my daughter to Dr. Bethany when I suspected she may have tongue / lip tie after talking with a lactation consultant and I’m so glad we did!! This is our first baby so we were extra nervous and didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t really sure if my daughter needed this but I’m so glad I trusted my mom instinct and brought her in to see Dr. Bethany. Dr. Bethany was so thorough and made us confident that we were making the right decisions for our daughter. She helped us decide what did and did NOT need to be done and gave us support before and after he procedures. Dr. Bethany was not only an extremely knowledgeable provider but also a caring, compassionate guide in our tongue tie journey! I learned so much from Dr. Bethany and the team she works with, and now my daughter is doing great! She eats so fast with little to no burping needed, her head and neck are much more relaxed, and she is great at tummy time :)). I highly recommend Dr. Bethany if you want a kind provider who will help you make the best choices for your baby!

As a new mom my goal was to breastfeed my daughter till she was at least 1 years old. I felt it was an important part of our connection and journey. However, my daughter was super colicky and wasn’t latching properly. I was feeling defeated and was in desperate need of support. After consulting with my lactation consultant, Lauren Archer, Chiropractor Dr. Eileen, and Dr. Bethany they helped create a plan to reach our goal. After some bodywork and oral exercises we decided to do our release with Dr. Bethany.
Dr. Bethany was extremely kind and thoroughly explained how a release would greatly improve my baby’s oral functioning. She was patient and answered all my questions leaving me feeling supported and confident in my decision to move forward with the release.
After the release I was able to immediately tell the difference in my daughters latch and can happily say we reached our goal (she just turned 12 months last week).
Thanks Dr. Bethany you’re the best!

I came into contact with Dr. Bethany when my baby was not gaining enough weight, constantly feeding and I was in tremendous pain. My lactation consultant Elena Vogel referred me to Dr. Bethany.
After a thorough examination Dr Bethany recommended physical therapy and craniosacral therapy to make sure medical intervention was needed and baby was in best position possible to fully benefit from a potential release.
After working with this amazing team of women my baby gained upper body strength and alignment and ended up having a release. Because of the prep work she was instantly able to nurse better and started gaining weight as needed. And I was able to continue breastfeeding for another year.
I’m so thankful to the team of professionals who not only communicated between themselves to make sure the baby's best interest was kept in mind but also did a full 360 assessment of nursing and the baby's overall health before jumping to a medical intervention. I really believe the release was the best solution for my child.
Thank you so much, Dr Bethany! Extra lucky you're based in NELA!

I was introduced to Dr. Kum who manages and treats pediatric tethered oral tissues (tongue and lip ties). I just wish we had met her earlier so that we may have been able to salvage my breast feeding journey with my first daughter, which was unfortunately halted early. When we did seek out Dr. Kum I learned so much about how tongue and lip ties can contribute to poor feeding and poor weight gain and a little sad to know how little our medical system is trained to identify these issues in babies. Dr. Kum is so amazing and I loved her multidisciplinary and global approach to the care of my little one incorporating recommendations for chiropractic care and occupational therapy to make sure to correct not just the physical tongue and lip ties but also to address associated issues that can impact long term outcomes and feeding success. She is the warmest and friendliest person with two little ones of her own! Her office is beautiful and catered to families of little ones with private waiting rooms (arg wish I had a picture!). Her office staff were so friendly and easy to work with! I highly recommend Dr. Kum and her team!! PS: I also want to add that my daughter (who has a congenital heart condition) was seeing Dr. Kum for care during the peak of COVID and I appreciated her office taking patient safety very seriously with lots of precautions in place to ensure no cross contamination with other patients.

As a first time mom, I didn’t know how to approach my daughter’s tongue/lip tie. I had originally scheduled an appointment with an ENT, but due to insurance matters, it had to be canceled. Well I’m thankful that happened because that’s how I discovered Dr. Bethany! She was so thorough and understanding from beginning to end. And her collaborative approach helped us receive care from a wonderful OT provider. I felt having that direct, professional relationship really mattered. Now a month out and my daughter is thriving! Thanks Dr. Bethany and staff for being so awesome.
